Jacobsen Salt Co. is an artisanal sea salt producer based in the Pacific Northwest, known for harvesting high-quality, hand-flaked sea salts from the Oregon coast. They came to us looking for a complete redesign of their website and navigation. Giving their customers a refreshed shopping experience.
User experience / user interface design
Site Navigation, user interface design, marketing, user expereince, and shopping cart
The client wanted to refresh their site to better reflect the brand’s identity and easily navigate their line of products. Since salt is a kitchen essential, I focused on making products easy to find by organizing them into clear categories—by type, grain size, seasoning blends, and more. Customers can easily browse the full product line through intuitive filters and listings.
With a wide range of products, Jacobsen needed a navigation system that could highlight featured items and promotions dynamically. We developed a flexible design and backend solution that allows them to easily update content. The navigation also provides access to recipes, shop categories, brand information, and seasonal features—organized through clean groupings, subtle microinteractions, and a consistent typographic rhythm to ensure clarity without clutter.
Rooted in the natural beauty of the Pacific Northwest, the visual language uses earthy tones, organic textures, and structured layouts. Every UI element—from icons to transitions—reinforces a brand experience that feels calm, confident, and cohesive.
To invite users into the brand ecosystem, we created a community recipe page that blends storytelling with utility. It showcases how real people use Jacobsen’s products in everyday cooking, reinforcing a brand voice that’s flavorful, creative, and community-focused.
